If you’ve been around Immortal for any amount of time, you know this already—but our gym has never been about finding the fittest person in the room. It’s always been about building strong, healthy humans and an even stronger community.
That’s exactly why we’re hosting our first-ever Immortal Intramural Open.
This event is not about leaderboard domination or comparing yourself to the person next to you. It’s about showing up, being part of something bigger than yourself, and leaning into the energy that makes this place feel like home.

What the Intramural Open Is (and What It Isn’t)
Let’s clear this up right away.
This is not:
- A test to see who is the fittest in the gym
- A competition only for elite athletes
- Something you should sit out of because you feel “not ready yet”
This is:
- A four-week, team-based event designed to bring our community together
- An opportunity to try workouts in a fun, supportive environment
- A chance to connect with members you might not normally train with
- A reminder that fitness can be challenging and fun at the same time
You’ll earn points for participation, effort, and team spirit—not just performance. The goal is engagement, accountability, and having a blast together.
Meet the Team Captains
One of the things we’re most excited about is our team leadership. Each team will be led by a captain who embodies what Immortal is all about—consistency, encouragement, and community.
This year’s team captains are:
- Heather Alvarez
- Katie Honeycutt
- Dan Conway
- Mark Ritchey
These captains aren’t here to coach or judge—they’re here to hype you up, bring people together, and help make sure everyone feels included and supported throughout the Open.

Draft Day – February 8th
If you’re signed up, you’re invited to Draft Day on February 8th.
This is where the fun really starts.
Teams will be selected, captains will start building their squads, and the energy for the Open officially kicks off. You’ll get to meet teammates, see where you landed, and start connecting before the first workout even begins.
More details on time and location will be shared closer to the date.
Event Schedule
The Intramural Open will consist of four workouts, all held during our Friday Night Lights:
- Week 1: February 27th
- Week 2: March 6th
- Week 3: March 13th
- Week 4: March 20th
Each week is a chance to show up, support your teammates, and push yourself—no matter your fitness level.
What We Hope You Get Out of This
Our hope is simple.
We want you to:
- Feel more connected to the Immortal community
- Try things you might normally shy away from
- Celebrate effort over perfection
- Leave each Friday feeling proud that you showed up
If you walk away stronger, more confident, and more connected to the people around you—then this event is a win.
If you’ve been on the fence about signing up, this is your sign. You belong here, and we’d love to experience this together.
Let’s make our first Intramural Open something special.
