Immortal Athletics All Hands on Deck

Why I Started a Gym!

Growing up I was big into playing soccer and softball. My whole year consisted of it. I got to be with my friends, family and it never felt like something I “had” to do. I also never realized how good it was for me, by keeping me active and moving my body.

I was never taught the importance of fueling your body and why I should develop healthy habits. The role it should play in your life, especially as you get older. It wasn’t until after college, when I was seeing the effects of not being active or eating a well balanced diet. I decided to get a personal trainer and then shortly after that my aunt introduced me to Crossfit. This was the first time in my life I fell in love with fitness and shortly after learn the importance of nutrition and properly fueling your body. The biggest take away wasn’t the number on the scale or that I had to buy smaller clothes! It was a level of confidence I gained, confidence I have never had before. On top of feeling better about myself, I also fell in love with the community. The excitement I would get seeing other people crush their goals or helping someone learn a new skill. It brought me absolute joy.

Fast forward 6 years and I am at a new gym where I end up meeting my husband. He is a Physical Therapist, so naturally he loves helping people. When I was pregnant with our first child we started a cash based physical therapy clinic and went full time during my second pregnancy with the twins. Little did we know this decision is what was going to inspire Immortal Athletics.

The gym, our clinic was currently in, was selling and that meant we had to find a new space. After a lot of praying and searching we found “the spot” which was a BIG God wink. I could just see the gym before we even really talked about it. We know the importance of fitness, we know the important role food plays in our everyday life and how much we are designed to have community. At this point in our lives, we aren’t trying to look a certain way or go to the Crossfit games. We just want to be healthy, be able to keep up with our kids, take care of our parents, one day be able to get in the floor with our grandkids, not be on tons of different medication and the list could go on. We also know there are other people out there that want the same thing as us.

Now we are building Immortal Athletics to help people be physically fit, mentally strong and spiritually sound. We are excited to open our doors January 2025!
